Hi Joe; I agree with the other Frank. Does the knocking sound on heavy acceleration? If so, then that is the aspirating and lugging sound that big singles make. The way to avoid that sound is to shift often. When you are accelerating to higher speeds from slow traffic for example, just shift into a lower gear and let the motor speed up a bit. RPM's are not as hard on a motor as straining at low speeds. If you have a genuine knock you will know it right away. The motor is bolted directly to the frame and you will feel the connecting rod knocking on the crank pin, there will be no mistake! Enjoy, Frank M.
